As our regular readers know, the ISU Library Preservation Department has been fortunate to be able to offer the Lennox Foundation Preservation Internship every summer since 2006, thanks to a generous endowment from the Lennox Foundation.  Beginning this year, we have been able to extend the internship to 3 full months, which gives our interns time to tackle more complex projects and gain a wider breadth of experience in our hybrid lab.

2011 Lennox Foundation Preservation Intern Lauren Calcote

Our 2011 Lennox Intern, Lauren Calcote, finished her second-year coursework in the Buffalo State College Art Conservation Department this spring.  While at ISU, she will be conducting a condition survey of historic theses (1889-1919) in our Special Collections, trying  her hand at batch production repairs on our General Collections materials, and designing and performing conservation treatments on Special Collections materials, including bound volumes, leather, and photographic materials.

Lauren will also be contributing to the department blog, so keep an eye out for her future posts!
